Payment Links Dashboard

You can perform the following Payment Link operations via the Razorpay Dashboard:

Create a Payment Link#

You can create a Payment Link to collect funds from your customers via the Dashboard or APIs. When you create a Payment Link, it moves to issued state by default.

To create a Payment Link from the Dashboard:

  1. Log into your Razorpay Dashboard.
  2. Go to Payment Links.
  3. Click Create Payment Link.
  4. Select the desired currency from the dropdown list.
  5. Enter the following details:
    1. Fill up the Amount you want to be paid. You can now receive payments in international currencies.
    2. Enter the payment description in the Payment For field, that is the purpose for which Payment Link is created.
    3. Enter the customer's email address and phone number in the Email and Phone fields. The Payment Link is automatically sent via SMS and email to the customer.
    4. Enter the Receipt No., that is the unique internal reference number for your business.
    5. In the Expire On field, you can mark the date on which you want the Payment Link to expire. By default, a payment link will expire 6 months after creation.
  6. Enable or disable reminders for the Payment Link using Send auto reminders. Learn more about reminders.
  7. Select Enable Partial Payment if you want to allow your customer to make partial payments. Learn more about partial payments.
  8. Select SMS or Email or both to define the mode by which the Payment Link is to be sent.
  9. To add any other detailed information about the payment, click Add New against Internal Notes.
  10. Review the details and click Create Payment Link.

Once created, it appears on the list of Payment Links.

Search#

You can search for a Payment Link by one or a combination of following fields:

  • Payment Link Status
  • Payment Link ID
  • Receipt No.
  • Customer Contact
  • Customer Email
  • Notes

Enable Partial Payments#

You can allow customers to make partial payments on their orders. To do this:

  1. Log into your Razorpay Dashboard.
  2. Go to Payment Links.
  3. Click Create Payment Link.
  4. Select Enable Partial Payment.

The created Payment Link appears:
Clicking on the specific Payment Link ID (for example inv_DitrYBXbtu6E3r) will open a side panel with details of that specific Payment Link.

Note:
You can enable partial payments on a Payment Link with an issued status in the edit mode. Click on the Payment Link ID and in the side panel, select Enable against the Partial Payment field.

Customer-side Interaction#

When customers receive the Payment Link to make a payment, they will have an option to make partial payment if the feature is enabled. Customers will have the option to modify the payment amount to anything between ₹1 and the amount requested by the merchant.

You can also view the payment history as shown below:

Edit a Payment Link#

To edit a Payment Link, click on a Payment Link ID and a side panel appears. You can edit the following fields in the side panel of an issued Payment Link.

  1. Partial Payments - Enable or disable Partial Payment.
  2. Reminders - Enable or disable Send auto reminders for the Payment Link. Learn more about reminders.
  3. Receipt No. - To edit a Receipt No.:
    1. Click Change.
    2. Modify the Receipt No.
    3. Click Save.
  4. Expiry Date - Select the No Expiry checkbox or select an expiry date using the calendar.
  5. Notes - Click Add New to enter additional details.

Note:
You can only add notes for Payment Links that are in Cancelled, Partially Paid and Paid states. You cannot edit any other fields.

Cancel a Payment Link#

If you do not want your customers to use the Payment Link you have issued, you can cancel it. You can only cancel Payment Links that are in the issued state. To cancel from the Dashboard:

  1. Log into your Razorpay Dashboard.
  2. Go to Payment Links.
  3. Click on the Payment Link ID you want to cancel.
  4. Click Cancel Link and confirm the same by clicking Yes, Cancel.

Duplicate a Payment Link#

To save time and reduce possibilities of mistakes while creating Payment Links, you can duplicate an existing Payment Link.

  1. Log into your Razorpay Dashboard.

  2. Go to Payment Links.

  3. Click on the Payment Link ID you want to duplicate.

  4. In the side panel, click Duplicate Payment Link icon.

  5. In the Create Payment Link window, amend the required payment details. For example, you can change the Amount or modify the description in Payment For.

  6. Click Create Payment Link.

Note:
You can duplicate a Payment Link irrespective of its status.

Resend Notification to Customers#

You can resend a Payment Link to your customer, if required. To resend:

  1. Log into your Razorpay Dashboard.
  2. Go to Payment Links.
  3. Select the Payment link ID you wish to resend.
  4. Click Resend Link at the top of the page.
  5. Select the modes (Email or SMS or both) in which you want to resend the link and click Send Link.
