  • From Processing Payments to Managing Them for Businesses: Introducing AI-Native Agent Studio

India’s payments infrastructure is now among the advanced payments infrastructure in the world, with money moving instantly at a national scale. Yet the business of managing online commerce – recovering abandoned carts, retrying failed subscriptions, reconciling settlements, resolving disputes – still demands significant manual effort. Every merchant ends up stitching together workflows across multiple tools just to keep revenue from slipping through the cracks.

To change this, Razorpay today introduced the Razorpay Agent Studio – a B2B agent marketplace and builder platform for Payments and Business Banking, built using the Claude Agent SDK from Anthropic. Think of it as a team of AI specialists that businesses can hire in one click – each agent purpose-built to handle a specific commerce challenge, from recovering failed payments to settling disputes before they escalate. Businesses don’t need to stitch together separate tools; they simply pick the agents they need from a growing marketplace, right where their payments already flow.

For the initial rollout, Razorpay has introduced production-ready agents designed to help businesses:

  • Abandoned Cart Conversion Agent: Converts abandoned carts (voice-led) into completed purchases (with Nugget by Zomato, SuperU)
  • Dispute Responder Agent: Responds to payment disputes on your behalf with a higher win-rate
  • Subscription Recovery Agent: Recovers failed subscriptions (voice-led) intelligently (with ElevenLabs)
  • Cashflow Forecaster Agent: Predicts cashflow patterns and identifies potential liquidity gaps

How does this work?

When a customer leaves during checkout, a smart AI agent, who has all the context of the buyer and the corresponding abandoned session, can step in automatically. Instead of sending a generic reminder, it starts a quick conversation over voice or message to understand why the customer left and can even offer a small discount or incentive before sending a payment link to complete the purchase. Almost like saying, “Hi, I noticed you left the headphones in your cart. Would you like me to send you a payment link with your loyalty discount applied?” This helps businesses recover sales that would otherwise be lost.

Behind the scenes, Razorpay’s Agent Studio also allows businesses to connect platforms like Shopify, Shiprocket, WhatsApp, ElevenLabs, Slack, Tally, Quickbook, and more. These integrations give agents deeper context across systems – enabling smarter decisions and more effective actions. Build partners on the Agent Studio include Nugget by Zomato and SuperU.

And it doesn’t just stop here. At the heart of the Agent Studio is a “Build Your Agent” feature that lets businesses create their own AI agents – all in plain English without needing to code. They simply describe what they want the agent to do, choose the systems it can access, and set a few rules. For example, a business could say, “Proactively follow up with my high-risk loan defaulters (users) and remind them to keep the required funds ready in their accounts.” The agent is then created instantly and starts handling that task automatically.

With the Agent Studio, Razorpay becomes the place where businesses don’t just move money – they run their business. A growing library of intelligent agents handles everything from cart recovery to settlement reconciliation, turning what used to take teams and tools into one-click automations on India’s most trusted payment rails.

  • From Forms to Conversations: Introducing the Razorpay Agentic Experience Platform: AI That Simplifies Onboarding, Integration, and Payment Operations

While payments today move faster than ever, managing them behind the scenes still takes time, teams, and complex processes – from onboarding and integrations to reporting and reconciliation.

To change this, Razorpay today introduced the Razorpay Agentic Experience Platform – an AI-native layer built with Claude that makes interacting with Razorpay as simple as having a conversation. Instead of navigating endless forms, documentation, and dashboards, businesses can now manage payments through natural language, completing complex tasks in minutes.

The platform introduces three powerful capabilities:

  1. Agentic Onboarding lets businesses get started in minutes by simply sharing details like PAN and website, while the system verifies identity through government infrastructure and completes checks automatically. This reduces onboarding time from 30-45 mins to just 5 minutes, enabling businesses to go live with Razorpay significantly faster.
  2. Agentic Dashboard lets businesses manage their payments simply by asking. For example, a merchant can upload a bank statement and ask, “Match this with my Razorpay settlements.” The system reads the file, finds the payment details, and matches them instantly. What once took finance teams hours of manual work can now be done in seconds
  3. Agentic Integration delivers an AI-native way for partners, merchants, and developers to integrate Razorpay in under 10 minutes. It works seamlessly across AI coding environments like Claude Code and no-code platforms such as Replit and Emergent, enabling businesses to go live with payments faster than ever.

The company believes that together, these launches mark a shift in how financial infrastructure is built and experienced – moving from traditional payment processing to agents that can reason everyday payment tasks into simple interactions on your behalf, automate payments, and act on behalf of businesses.

Speaking at FTX, Harshil Mathur, Co-founder & CEO, Razorpay, said, “Businesses don’t just need more software anymore – they need intelligence that can act. With the launch of the world’s first Agent Studio for payments, we’re enabling companies to deploy AI agents that can understand and monitor their revenue flows, resolve payment issues, and unlock insights across billions of transactions in real time. Our goal is simple: let businesses focus on growth while payments work in the background for them. I believe this is the beginning of a new operating layer for businesses, where intelligent agents work alongside teams to make financial operations faster, smarter, and more autonomous.”

Commenting on the partnership, Irina Ghose, Managing Director, Anthropic India said, “Razorpay’s work with Claude shows how AI agents can address real commerce challenges – recovering revenue, resolving disputes, and predicting cash flow. It’s a great example of what AI can do when it’s embedded into the operating fabric of business.

Building on its push toward AI-led fintech, Razorpay endeavors to reimagine how intent turns into transactions. At the Global Fintech Festival 2025, it introduced India’s first concept of agentic payments with NPCI and OpenAI – showing how AI could move from recommendations to completing payments. And at the recent India AI Impact Summit, Razorpay expanded this vision with Anthropic, bringing agentic payment capabilities to the Claude ecosystem.

Now, the company is extending this into in-app commerce with platforms such as  Zomato, Swiggy, PVR Inox, Vodafone Idea, Bluestone, Honasa (The Derma Co) – letting customers discover, decide, and pay within the same conversation, without navigating traditional checkout flows. As AI transforms digital journeys, Razorpay believes the future of commerce will be where a simple intent can instantly become a transaction.
