Razorpay has launched its new GIFT City infrastructure after receiving the final Payment Service Provider (PSP) license from the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA).
The company is bringing complete consumer payment rails to the region to help manage cross-border transactions on both sides of the border. This setup is designed to seamlessly handle money going out of India as well as money coming home.
Interest in global investing among Indian users is rising rapidly, as more people look to diversify their portfolios and participate in international markets. According to RBI data, Indian residents invested $2.65 billion in overseas stocks and debt in FY26, a 56% increase year-on-year.
As investor interest grows, enabling global investing comes with heavy operational complexities for brokers and wealth platforms. Razorpay’s infrastructure resolves this friction by collapsing a fragmented, multi-step process into a single, unified flow. Investment platforms can now integrate once to offer global investing seamlessly, in full alignment with FEMA and GIFT City regulations. What typically took platforms months to build can now go live in just 2 to 3 weeks.
One API For the Entire Money Journey
Until now, an investment platform looking to offer global equities had to independently stitch together multiple banking rails, complex compliance workflows, and disparate remittance partners. This patchwork approach led to prolonged onboarding cycles, a disjointed user experience, and persistent operational uncertainty. At the same time, regulators are actively steering cross-border investment flows through GIFT City, turning compliant, purpose-built infrastructure from an advantage into a necessity.
Razorpay addresses this shift directly. The infrastructure empowers brokers and wealth platforms to offer international equities by bringing together every banking and payment capability required for cross-border investments under one roof. Razorpay’s banking integrations with RBL Bank and ICICI Bank are already live on the network, with additional banking partners scheduled to join in the coming months.
Built on Infrastructure Platforms Already Trust
As brokers and wealth platforms look to take their users into global markets, they need the same reliability and payment choice across borders as they do in domestic markets. Razorpay brings that trusted infrastructure directly to GIFT City, offering multiple payment options across major banks and payment systems. Platforms can launch and scale their global equity offerings confidently while the complex payments, compliance, and reporting are handled in the background.
A Connected Financial Future
From helping Indians invest in global markets to making cross-border transactions completely seamless, Razorpay is building the payments infrastructure for a more connected financial world.
