RazorpayX Account

To make payouts, you must have a bank account linked to your RazorpayX account.

Types of Accounts#

Currently, there are two types of accounts available to you:

  • Virtual Account
  • Current Account

Virtual Account#

This is available to you as soon as you sign up with RazorpayX. The virtual account has an account number and IFSC. You can get these details on your RazorpayX Dashboard.

You can add funds to your virtual account as soon as you sing up and start making payouts immediately.

Current Account#

We offer you a current account that comes with all standard banking features like cheque book, debit card and account statement.

Feature Enablement:
If you are interested to open a current account, raise a request using the support form on the RazorpayX Dashboard.

Once we receive your request, we will contact you and initiate the process to open a current account. You can check progress on your Dashboard. You will be able to see the following status updates on your Dashboard.

Process Initiated

● We have received your request and will contact you to understand your requirements and help you gather documents required to open a current account.
● We inform our partner bank RBL to contact you, collect the required documents and take the process further. Documents required to open a Current Account will differ based on your business type.

Processing by Bank

● Our partner bank has received the documents required to process your request and complete KYC.
● A Relationship Manager from RBL will contact you if further clarification is needed.

Processed by Bank

● At this stage, your Current Account is created by the bank.
● Account details are sent to you via email or can be seen on the Dashboard.
● You can add funds to your current account.
● You CANNOT MAKE PAYOUTS using your current account at this stage.

Activated

You can now start creating payouts using funds in your Current Account. To do this, all you have to do is:
● Pass your current account number in the account_number parameter when creating a payout using APIs.
● Select current account as the debit account when creating a payout from the Dashboard.

Add Funds#

You need to add funds to your RazorpayX account to make payouts. There are three ways to add funds to your business account:

  • Direct Bank Transfer via NEFT/RTGS/IMPS.
  • Receive payments from clients.
  • Set your business account as the default settlement account (existing Razorpay PG merchants only).

Direct Bank Transfer#

You can transfer funds to your RazorpayX account via a direct bank transfer from any bank account. You can transfer funds using:

  • IMPS
  • NEFT
  • RTGS

Details of your RazorpayX account are available on the Dashboard home page.

Receive Funds from Clients#

Just like you would with a normal bank account, you can give your bank account details to your customers and receive funds from them. Funds transferred are credited to your account the moment they are received by Razorpay, and made available to you for further operation.

Default Settlement Account#

If you are an existing merchant, you can request your Payment Gateway (PG) funds to be settled to your RazorpayX account by raising a request using the support form on the RazorpayX Dashboard.

Once processed, all your PG funds are settled to your RazorpayX account.

Note:
Once the request to set your RazorpayX account as your default settlement account is processed, the bank account linked to your PG account no longer receives funds from Razorpay and is no longer linked to your PG account.

Low Balance Email Alerts#

You must maintain a sufficient balance in your bank account to process payouts. If your account does not have sufficient balance, payouts are queued and processed when you add funds to your account. This could cause delays in processing payouts and a bad experience for your customers or vendors.

To help you avoid low balance scenarios, RazorpayX allows you to set up email alerts when your account balance falls below a limit set by you. You can do this from the RazorpayX Dashboard. Navigate to My Accounts & SettingsBankingLow Balance Alerts.

The following options are available to you when setting low balance alerts:

  • Independent limits:
    You can set up independent limits for each bank account linked to your RazorpayX account. For example, you can set the limit as ₹50,000 for your virtual account and ₹75,000 for your current account.
  • Email Addresses:
    You must enter the email address to whom the low balance alert emails should be sent. You can enter multiple email addresses. You can also send these emails to users who are not part of your RazorpayX team.
  • Notification Frequency:
    How often you want the email alerts sent to you. The default option is 8 hours. Available options are 4, 8, 12 and 24 hours.
