# Test Payments in Smart Collect

> Learn how you can accept payments to Customer Identifiers in test mode before accepting live payments in Razorpay Smart Collect product.

You can create and manage your Customer Identifiers in test mode before you start making and receiving actual transactions.

To generate Test Keys for API:

1. Log in to the Dashboard.
2. Select the **Test Mode** from menu ribbon.
3. Navigate to **Settings** > **API Keys**.
4. Click **Generate Test Key**.
5. Click **Download Key Details** and save the Test Key details on your system.

## Test Payments

Test payments can be initiated towards any Customer Identifier created in test mode, via the `Make Test Payment` option on your Dashboard. This option will trigger the webhook notifications similar to the live payment made via NEFT/IMPS/RTGS.
