Razorpay allows foreign (non-Indian) businesses to accept payments from their Indian customers without the need to do any additional paperwork or registration.
Using this solution, your Indian customers can make payments via local payment methods such as credit cards, debit cards, UPI and netbanking. The funds are settled in your overseas bank account.

Once an account is onboarded and activated, update the purpose code in the Razorpay Dashboard.
Limited payment methods are available to end customers. For example, UPI and recurring payments are not supported by most of the payment providers.
Registration in India is a tedious and long process and is often subjected to regulations and reporting requirements.

Currency Conversion
Customer can initiate payments in their native currency, and payments will be settled in your foreign bank account.
Once the account is activated, navigate to My Account → Profile.
Click Select Code next to the Purpose Code field. A list of Purpose Codes appears. Here is a short video on how to update your Purpose Code/IEC.
You must provide Purpose Code information when applying for international payments. Select a Purpose Code and click Next.
Enter the 10-digit Importer Exporter Code (IEC) and click Next.
Review and click Confirm Purpose Code.
Watch Out!
The Razorpay Activation/Operations team checks whether the selected Purpose Code is correct or not.
As consumers or buyers, you will get an option to make payments through the Razorpay payment gateway. On selecting Razorpay, various payment methods will be displayed on Razorpay checkout to complete the payment.
The general settlement TAT is around T+7, which would take around 7 days to settle money in your foreign bank account. We can reduce the TAT in the future.
The funds will be settled in your local currency. The list of currencies currently supported are: USD, SGD, AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, HKD, INR and MYR for transactions originating from India.
In some cases, we might require bills. You should provide invoices for all your import transactions if and when asked. An airway bill is mandatory to import goods if and when required.
The chargeback will be handled as-is, which means that a dispute is raised between networks/issuing banks and the business, and the chargeback is processed based on the final decision taken by the networks/banks involved.
