ePOS Onboarding for a New User

You can use the Razorpay ePOS app to quickly create and share Payment Links with your customers. To start accepting digital payments, you must create and activate an account with Razorpay.

To create a Razorpay account you need to:

  1. Sign up
  2. Verify email address

After creating an account, you can start accepting payments from your customers via Razorpay ePOS app. However, the money is settled to your account only after your KYC details are verified.

  1. Click Sign up now on the Razorpay ePOS app.

  2. Enter your name, work email address, contact number and business details. Set a password for your Razorpay account.

  3. Click Create Account.

Verify Email Address#

Upon the completion of signup, you will receive a verification email at the provided email address.

Follow the instructions in the email to verify your email and proceed to log into your Razorpay ePOS app.

Once your account is created, you may skip the activation process as you have access to Test mode in the Razorpay ePOS app. Test mode is used for testing purposes and does not involve actual money transactions.

Note:
You can access the Razorpay ePOS app in test mode for as long as you like. However, you would need to activate your account in order to accept live payments.

Click Create Test Link and try out test payments in test modes.

Account Activation#

To access live mode and accept payments from customers, you must activate your account. Enter the required business details in the Activation Form page.

As part of the account activation process, you are required to submit business details to Razorpay. For example, for Business Type - Private Limited, you need to provide Registered Address (Pincode as in 6 digits) and specific Business PAN number and Authorized Signatory PAN number format, which is validated.

Once details are entered and you have read and agreed upon the Terms and Conditions, click Save & Next.

Your account is instantly activated and you can start accepting domestic payments via live mode. Live mode can be used after activation form is updated. After fulfilling the KYC requirements, the amount received from making live transactions will be settled to your bank account.

KYC Verification#

Even though your account is active and you can start accepting domestic payments, your payments will be deposited to your bank account only after KYC verification. For your business model, you are required to give more details to activate your account.

As part of the KYC verification, you need to submit information such as contact details, business details, account details and business documents to Razorpay.

  1. Click on Complete KYC in the left menu panel of the ePOS app, which redirects you to the Sign In page or go to the Razorpay website and click Log In submitting your recently created Razorpay account credentials.

  2. To submit your KYC, navigate to My Account and click View KYC Form in Dashboard. The first page on the form is pre-filled and contains the contact information submitted during the sign-up process.

  3. The second page requires details about the business.

  4. The third page requires business registration details. These include details like Company PAN, PAN of the Director, Registered Address and GSTIN.

  5. The bank account section is the fourth page on your KYC form and requires you to fill in your bank account details such as Bank account number, Beneficiary name and IFSC. This will be the account to which Razorpay settles your funds.

  6. The fifth page requires you to upload PDF copies of business documents related to your business model.

  7. Once you have completed the KYC form and uploaded the required document, read through the Terms and Conditions, and select the checkbox on the page if you agree with same. Click Submit.

  8. Once submitted, Razorpay starts the KYC review process. This usually takes 4-5 working days. Once the review is done, all payments received before you submitted the KYC form and documents, are settled to your account.

Note:
You will not be able to conduct any live transactions if there are any irregularities in documents submitted by you as your account will be suspended. You will be required to create a new Razorpay account.

How the app works#

Using ePOS App#

  1. Log into the Razorpay account with your credentials. Depending on Google's evaluation, you are prompted to enter the CAPTCHA. Once details are fetched, you will be navigated to the New Payment screen.

  2. By default, you are in the Test mode. Locate the toggle button on the top-right corner. Slide the button to switch to Live Mode.

  3. On the New Payment screen, enter the amount, your customer's phone number and payment description. Your customer will receive the Payment Link via SMS only if the contact number has been entered.

  4. Review the captured details and click Create Link. A Payment Link is successfully created and your customer receives the payment request URL via SMS.

  5. When a customer receives the Payment Link, they can select their desired payment method and make the payment accordingly. Once the payment has been made, it is transferred to your bank account after deduction of fees and according to your settlement schedule.

As Payment Links are an easy substitute for both cash-on-delivery and point-of-sale payment methods in your business, you can share the Payment Link via Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, SMS, or email, and accept payments directly.
