Their goal is to get early-stage startups through the first phase. This means &#8211; get to a point where startups have built something impressive enough to raise money on a larger scale. People can perform a full-body workout with no human guidance involved.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The obstacle<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Initially, Thunderpod outsourced their payroll to a <\/span><b>CA firm<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> who calculated monthly salary payouts and compliance deductions for all the employees on a <\/span><b>spreadsheet<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. After the finalisation of payroll figures, Rahul transferred salaries to individuals accounts one-by-one.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The entire process of transferring salaries, making statutory payments and sending payslips to employees took around <\/span><b>6-7 hours<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, the difficulty increased with every new onboarding. They had to send details over mails to their accountants and miscommunication created a lot of confusion. One wrong input would jeopardise the entire payroll calculations for the month.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Being an early-stage startup founder, Anudeep wanted to focus on the product and branding. Users can split payments on the go without any reminders, delayed payments, or multiple transactions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The obstacle<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">goDutch ran payroll manually just like other companies. They used <\/span><b>spreadsheets <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to maintain employee records and folders for documents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The business collected their employees\u2019 bank account details and spent hours on making individual IMPS transactions to disburse their salaries. They were concerned about the different aspects of <\/span><b>compliance like TDS, ESI, PF, and PT<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, along with reimbursements. They also believed the system they followed was not secure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another major issue faced by goDutch was <\/span><b>reimbursements<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. They reimbursed employees on an approximate basis. There was no set method for verifying documents, expense approval and reimbursements.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But, they quickly realised that their payroll process was not all that efficient.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5163 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/razorpay.com\/blog-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/farmtheory-logo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"163\" height=\"31\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Arpit Agarwal<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, co-founded <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/farmtheory.in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">farmtheory<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with an aim to curb food waste by increasing farmer incomes and giving access to healthy, affordable and yet remarkably farm-fresh produce to every family.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The obstacle<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite having a dedicated team to manage payroll, Arpit had to spend his valuable time on processing salaries and making statutory payments. The team calculated and processed the month\u2019s payroll on spreadsheets that were prone to human errors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More than full-time employees, Farmtheory had contractual agreements with contractors and professionals. Managing their invoices, deducting TDS before payments and making <\/span><b>contractual payments<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> were significant pain points. Instead, a lot of valuable time is spent on manually executing payroll.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They dealt with payroll calculations and salary disbursements manually, but the primary cause of concern was <\/span><b>offer letters, salary customisation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. We maintained <\/span><b>spreadsheets<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for salary calculations, compliance payments, reimbursements, etc. It was difficult to make last-minute changes to salary figures and manage <\/span><b>statutory calculations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> like TDS, PF, ESI and PT on spreadsheets.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Edyst employed many teachers on contractual basis.
