When Ankit Garg spent time helping at his family’s chemical lab, where they validated and certified manufacturers of foam used in mattresses and pillows, he discovered some harsh truths about the industry. Rampant fraud, low-quality materials, and inflated prices were the norm. Foam adulterated with fillers, unnecessary stacking of layers for marketing gimmicks, and unjustifiable price tags – the industry was long overdue a wake-up call.
In 2016, Ankit Garg and Chaitanya Ramalingegowda turned that realization into a revolution. Wakefit was born with a bold mission: to democratise sleep in India by offering innovative, high-quality sleep solutions at prices that actually made sense.
Driven by deep customer research – visiting over 100 homes to understand real sleep needs – the Wakefit team perfected their products through relentless R&D and in-house manufacturing.
The impact? Phenomenal growth. From pioneering mattresses that solved real sleep problems to eventually expanding into home furniture categories like sofas, TV units, and study tables, Wakefit has reimagined comfort and wellness for modern Indian homes.
Today, Wakefit operates over 80 stores across 26 cities, with plans to scale up to 120 stores in the coming months.
