The Challenge: Building Checkout Flows That Convert and Retain
As POP scaled its lifestyle-commerce flywheel, it encountered two core payments challenges:

The Solution: Deepening Checkout and Loyalty Integration with Razorpay
To streamline its end-to-end payments experience and increase conversion efficiency, POP doubled down on its Razorpay partnership. The solution spanned multiple touchpoints:
One-Time Payments (D2C Commerce)
POP uses Razorpay’s Payment Gateway for all non-POP UPI prepaid orders—including UPI, cards. This powers 20,000–30,000 monthly orders, contributing to nearly 30–40% of prepaid volumes. Razorpay’s saved payment capabilities and seamless address recall reduced friction across purchases—particularly important during shopping rush , where reliability and speed are critical.
Operational Visibility and Refund Management (RazorpayX)
POP leverages RazorpayX and PG dashboards for day-to-day visibility into stuck payments, refunds, and success rates. This has significantly improved refund turnaround and reduced dependency on support teams for RCA. With deep linking and real-time tracking, POP significantly improved refund query resolution—often faster than internal data teams could manage.
Conversion Optimisation with UPI and Data Accuracy
By tightening UPI integrations and moving away from manual orchestration via VPAs, POP improved payment success rates across UPI flows. Razorpay’s platform-level data accuracy also enabled better analytics and proactive fraud management, with Saurav noting it was “more accurate than internal data in some cases,” especially for tracking reconciliation issues post-RTO or return signals.
