The Tech Behind the Magic: Razorpay MCP
This agentic shift is powered by our Model Context Protocol (MCP). Think of it as a translator that allows AI models to speak any payment language fluently.
Instead of a developer writing rigid code for every possible user response, the AI agent interacts directly with Razorpay’s MCP Server to:
- Understand Intent: Identify when a user wants to pay.
- Generate Modalities: Create a dynamic UPI payment link or a UPI SBMD (Reserve Pay) mandate.
- Verify Status: Monitor the transaction in real-time via webhooks and confirm the success to the userall without hanging up the call.
We know that with great autonomy comes a greater need for security. Razorpay Agentic Payments are built on a foundation of trust & safety:
- No PII Storage: Sensitive customer data is never parsed or stored by the voice AI.
- Secure Infrastructure: All payments are processed through Razorpay’s certified, PCI-DSS compliant rails.
- Explicit Consent: Whether it’s a one-time UPI link or a recurring Reserve Pay mandate, the user remains in total control of the authorization.
